Introduction to SpendNexus

Welcome to the SpendNexus documentation. SpendNexus is a powerful SaaS spend management platform designed to help founders and finance teams take control of their subscription software. Modern teams use dozens (or hundreds) of SaaS tools. Without a central source of truth, costs spiral out of control, renewal dates are missed, and “zombie” subscriptions haunt your bank statements. SpendNexus solves this by providing:
  • Centralized Inventory: One place for every subscription, agreement, and invoice.
  • Automated Alerts: Never miss a renewal again with Email and Slack notifications.
  • Spend Intelligence: Multi-currency analytics that normalize your spend into a single base currency.
  • Ownership Accountability: Assign owners to every tool to ensure someone is always responsible for the ROI.

Core Concepts

To get the most out of SpendNexus, it’s helpful to understand a few key concepts:

The Subscription

The primary unit of data in SpendNexus. Each subscription tracks a vendor, its monthly/yearly cost, renewal dates, and its current status (Active, Archived, or Trial).

Monthly Normalization

SpendNexus automatically normalizes all costs—whether billed monthly, quarterly, or yearly—into a single Monthly Equivalent Cost. This allows for consistent comparisons across your entire stack.

Organizations

Everything in SpendNexus is scoped to an Organization. Each organization has its own base currency, timezone, and team members.
